I Believe What I Believe
Lesson 32
Witnessing - A Reason For My Life

"The Mindset for Witnessing - When?"
Proverbs 11:30

1. Preoccupied With People (Matthew 4:19)
"Jesus said, 'Come follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.'"
A. Jesus turned the disciples from fishermen to fishers of men.
B. He turned their outlook from fishing to winning souls for Christ.
C. It is not often that God asks you to leave everything but He does ask you to concentrate on people.

2. Thoughts on Being Lost and How to Help Them:
A. Keep learning about witnessing every time you get lost:
1. Don't forget that most people that are lost are having fun.
2. Remember that spiritually lost people didn't get there on purpose.
3. Never forget that you were lost once.
B. Keep learning how to give good spiritual directions:
1. The lost do not want to be criticized, so be gentle and sensitive.
2. Don't underestimate the importance of spiritual questions.
3. Don't overload them with directions right from the start, go slow.
C. Pay the cost for finding the lost and showing them the way home:
1. Make time to search for the spiritually lost.
2. A spiritual search always begins with your heart and love of God.
3. Be ready to invade the world of spiritually lost people, you go to them.
D. Master the secrets of a successful witnesser:
1. Work at it. Nothing helps like experience.
2. Learn to pace yourself.
3. Discipline yourself to realize that a success is when you do witness no matter what the outcome is.
4. Never stop looking.
5. Always celebrate the victories with the church.
The previous is an excerpt from "Out of Their Faces and Into Their Shoes" John Kramp

3. Jesus teaches us that we are to constantly be looking with all our hearts and effort to find the lost and show them the way to heaven.
