Joy - An Attitude For My Life

"Crumbling of Your Attitude"
Luke 6:48-49

1. The Cookie Will Crumble Sometimes.
A. We must maintain the right attitude even when things go bad.
B. Realize the rough times don't last forever.
C. Try to make major decisions before the tough times come.
D. Keep in contact with the ground.
2. The Crumble That Comes From the Inside.
A. The fear of failure - so you don't try.
B. The death of discouragement:
1) Hurts your self-image.
2) Causes us to evade responsibility.
3) Causes us to blame others for our troubles.
4) Causes us to blur the facts.
C. The struggle of sin - the constant hammer pounding on us.
3. The Crumble From Others.
A. Criticism that crushes.
B. Problems that pound you.
C. Changes that conflict with you.
D. Negative attitudes that nag at you.
1) Negative thinking clouds our decisions.
2) Negative thinking is contagious.
3) Negative thinking blows everything out of proportion.
4) Negative thinking limits God and us.
5) Negative thinking hinders us from making a positive difference.

"That person is like a man building a house who dug deep and laid the foundation on rock. When the floods came, the water tried to wash the house away, but it could not shake it, because the house was built well. But the one who hears my words and does not obey is like a man who built his house on the ground without a foundation. When the floods came, the house quickly fell and was completely destroyed."
